From the date 11 Aug to 14 Aug 2014 TECICO has carried out the site investigation work of the Improvement and upgrading the road from XamTay to Thalau (Laos) project (at Vietnam- Laos Border).
Total lenght of the road is 67km, starting point at Xam Tay town, HuaPhan province (Laos), ending pont at 353 border post in the area of border gate Tha Lau (Kheo) next to Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province. The road is designed according to Laos Standard at grade IV, design velocity at 40km/h, road width at 7m in which running lane is 6m wide
After the completion of project, the road will have a economic, security and defense significant of Vietnam and Laos. The road connects border at Hua Phan province (Laos) to Thanh Hoa (Vietnam), and connects to the road system in Vietnam and to the Nghi Son deepwater port of Thanh Hoa. From there, forming a transport route from Laos to the sea, creating favorable conditions for transport and trade of the business and the people of the two countries; paving the socio-economic development for Hua Phan province – a revolutionary base of 2 countries during the resistance against the French colonialists, contributing to security of Vietnam – Laos border defense.
During the site investigation trip, TECICO has investigated whole the route, worked with survey teams and leaders of XamTay district , Department of Transport of Hua Phan Province. TECICO has signed a memorandum of agreement with the XamTay District and Department of Transportation of Hua Phan Province considering of the alignment and scale of the route through the XamTay town and location, scale, cross section of XamTay bridge.
